Share your views about Community Radio in Reading
7:30pm
RISC, London Street, READING
To date Reading Community Radio has undertaken 5 short-term broadcasts and those of you who have taken part, as representatives of a group or organisation or as an individual, will know that radio is an effective way of reaching out to the wider community in Reading.
By being involved you can:
· Ask people for the help you need;
· Recruit new volunteers;
· Tell the community about the work you do;
· Offer help and support where it’s needed;
· Reach your target community effectively and efficiently
Reading Community Radio is about to enter into an exciting new phase by working towards streaming 24/7 on the Internet. This is being made possible by our setting up a studio in the premises of Reading Association for The Blind at Walford Hall in Carey Street. The experience gained by taking this step will make the transition to full-time broadcasting when we get our Community Radio Licence a fairly simple one.
The comparatively small, although dedicated, team of volunteers we have built up will not be able to take this step unaided and we need to increase the numbers involved considerably. With this in mind, we would like to invite you, or a representative of your organisation, to a meeting in the conference hall at RISC, above the Global Café in London Street at 7.30 pm on Wednesday 17th February. This meeting will give you the opportunity to find out more about Reading Community Radio and what we can offer, about the role you or your organisation can play in community broadcasting in Reading and give you the opportunity to have a say in how we should develop.
