Goodbye from the Community Groups Project

News from: Reading Voluntary Action (RVA)

1 November 2004

This is the last time you will hear from the Community Groups Project as our funding ends in October.

On 24 September 2004 we had a farewell party to say goodbye to everyone we have worked with. We all had a good time thanks to Perdominant Productions for providing the music for the evening. We were entertained by Utulivu Kenyan Women’s Group and Rajeev from the Indian Community Association, who got us up and dancing. We are grateful to all of those who came and partied with us.

We will be sorry to leave Reading Voluntary Action and especially all the groups we have worked with over the last three years. We have been inspired by the continuing energy and enthusiasm of small groups in Reading. It is amazing what can be achieved with such little resources but a great deal of hard work.

If we haven’t already had a chance to say goodbye then let us take this opportunity now to thank you for making our work so enjoyable, fun and rewarding.
