Who will pay for what you do?
3 November 2006
Around 50 representatives from local voluntary groups attended the Forum's evening conference at New Hope Community Centre in Reading.
The theme for the evening focused on 'who will pay for what you do?' with dynamic presentations and workshops developing participants thinking about future funding for the voluntary sector in Reading. The importance of working with representatives on Reading's Compact was emphasised and participants discussed the nationwide trend towards contracting and procurement for services. Councillor David Sutton, Leader of Reading Borough Council highlighted the Council's continuing commitment to their grants programme with an emphasis on performance management through service level agreements for large grant holders.
Chair, Karen Morton and Gillian Graham, Forum Co-ordinator, launched the Forum's new website
http://www.rvsforum.co.uk which will be a powerful tool for co-ordinated representation and action in Reading's voluntary sector. Join the Forum on-line at the site.
