VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!
19 January 2008
To help with Committee Work. To help in the House. To organise activities with our residents
The Abbeyfield (Reading) Society maintains a Residential Care Home for 28 elderly people who receive 24 hours support. All bedrooms are en-suite with their own TV and telephone and are furnished with the residents’ own furniture. 3 meals a day are provided and cleaning and laundry is undertaken by our own staff. All carers are highly qualified and experienced.
Residents are encouraged to lead an active live in and outside the house although regular activities and entertainment are provided.
Abbeyfield House is a home, which the residents call their own, where they have friends and receive friends. A warm and friendly atmosphere contributes to their daily life.
The Society is looking for VOLUNTEERS to get involved in the society on a regular or occasional basis. We need Committee Members who in time can help run the society, we need help at reception in the house and we need people to engage with our residents. If you have any skills to offer (professional, vocational) or just a few hours to spare, please get in touch with us and we will tell you more.
If you are interested in being a VOLUNTEER of the Abbeyfield Reading Society and would like to know more about the Society, the House and its Residents and how you would be able to help, please get in touch with Mrs I. Murcott on 01628 624826 or email:
IMURCOTT@aol.com and she will be happy to talk to you and show you around.
