1.YOUNG PEOPLE'S FUND LOCAL GRANTS
The Big Lottery Fund is seeking applications to stage two of its local grants programme for young people's projects that meet the Government's five outcomes within the Every Child Matters programme. This second stage covers projects of a local nature, led and managed by young people, mainly aged between 10 and 18. Closing date is 16 October.

2. Ecominds
The Big Lottery Fund has awarded Mind £8.8m from its Changing Spaces programme to start up a new grants scheme. 'Ecominds' will fund projects across England that will help transform local environments and build the confidence and self-esteem of people with mental health problems.

3. Access to Nature
Access to Nature is a £25m grant scheme to encourage people from all backgrounds to understand, access and enjoy our natural environment. It is funded by the Big Lottery Fund's Changing Spaces programme and Natural England. The scheme will focus on three broad themes: community awareness and active participation; education, learning and volunteering; welcoming, well-managed and wildlife-rich places.

4. MYPLACE - ENGLAND
The Big Lottery Fund is delivering myplace on behalf of the Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF). This is not Lottery funding.
This scheme opens for applications on 6 May 2008. Grants available are between £1 million and £5 million. The total available is £190 million between 2008 and 2010. £160m will be available in year one of which up to £50 million is available through the Fastrack route.

5. Preventing Violent Extremism: Community Leadership Fund
A fund intended to support work that will assist individuals, organisations and communities to take the lead on tackling violent extremist influences. The funding is focused on: capacity of organisations and communities; supporting Muslim young people and women; Muslim faith leaders; and local forums against extremism and Islamophobia. 6. British Gas Energy Trust
The British Gas Energy Trust funds organisations to provide money and debt prevention advice and education, often with a particular emphasis on fuel poverty.

7. vinvolved
The new £75m national youth volunteering programme vinvolved begins this month. The aim of the programme is to involve 500,000 more young people aged 16-25 to volunteer in England over the next three years.

8. OFCOM COMMUNITY RADIO FUND
The Ofcom Community Radio Fund has been established to help fund the core costs of running a community radio station. The fund is targeted at not-for-profit radio stations that have a social purpose and work with their community in running the service. The fund is administered by Ofcom (The Office of Communications) on behalf of the Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS). The first round for 2008/09 opened on 10 April 2008.

9. REPAIR GRANTS FOR PLACES OF WORSHIP IN ENGLAND
The Repair Grants for Places of Worship in England scheme offers grants for urgent repairs to listed buildings which are in regular use as public places of worship. Grants are available for formally constituted religious organisations. The scheme is jointly funded by English Heritage (EH) and the Heritage Lottery Fund and is administered by EH's nine regional offices.

10.CHARLES HAYWARD FOUNDATION - NEW GUIDELINES
They make grants to charities and charitable organisations which are registered in the U.K.
The Foundation sees the value in supporting activities which have been demonstrated to work and can be replicated; The Foundation seeks to increase self-determination and independence in individuals and groups. They predominantly fund capital costs. Occasionally, project funding may be offered for start-up or development activities where these are not part of the on-going revenue requirement of the organisation.
The small grant scheme makes grants up to £5,000 only to charities with an annual turnover of less than £250,000.
In their other programmes, grant sizes are typically from £10,000 to £25,000 one-off grant. Where agreed, project funding may be granted for a maximum of three years in duration, and will be tapered downwards if appropriate. Project funding may be up to £15,000 per year over three years

11. New fund launched for community relations projects
A £750,000 fund has been launched for community projects that work to improve relations between different ethnic and religious groups.
The Barrow Cadbury Trust fund will typically provide voluntary and community projects with grants worth £30,000 over a two-year period. Funding will be offered to projects that promote solidarity between people of different ethnic, religious and cultural backgrounds.
Sukhvinder Kaur-Stubbs, chief executive of the Barrow Cadbury Trust, said: Some of the poorest parts of Britain are also the most ethnically diverse. As a charitable foundation, we need to help local communities join forces to tackle poverty and inequality, rather than compete over limited resources.
