The Elizabeth Jane Foundation

The Foundation aims to alleviate conditions of distress, deprivation and disadvantage in children and young people. Specifically, The Foundation works with building family values and in crime prevention.

Where it Operates: Bracknell Forest Reading Slough West Berkshire Windsor and Maidenhead Oxfordshire

Priorities: Promoting the family unit Parenting schemes Opportunities for children and young people 5- 25 years of age Crime Prevention

Typical Outputs Training and mentoring schemes for parents Family advocacy and advice Vocational training for young people especially NEET Crime diversion and prevention schemes Peer and other mentoring schemes

Typical Outcomes The Family unit is strengthened People are more confident in their parenting skills Young people at risk stay in or return to full time education More young people have access to training for employment Career offending is prevented

Applications for Grants are invited from registered charitable organisations with an annual income of no more than £200,000. Grants to individuals for any purpose will not be made.

The Grants Programme operates on a rolling basis and normally a grant will be processed within 6 weeks

One off requests for grants under £5000 are invited for a specific project or body of work and a short follow up report is requested.

New applications will not be considered from previously successful applicants within 24 months of the payment.

The Wates Foundation:
The Wates Foundation is launching its new programmes from 1 December 2008. The area of benefit has been widened to include most of the counties in the South of England including Oxfordshire, Berkshire and Buckinghamshire.

Details of the new programmes will be available on our website at www.watesfoundation.org.uk from the end of November.
