Street light practical community development

News from: Reading Voluntary Action (RVA)

by Merlyn Barrett (Training co-ordinator)

10 December 2008

Street light is a one day taster in practical community development skills which we are delighted to be able to offer with facilitation provided by Mosaic trainers. Street light has been used in urban priority areas in Glasgow and Liverpool since 2005.
This one day event will not only give delegates pointers in skills they can develop , but also a feel for whether the full street light training, which can be done as an intensive two day course or a 6 month course, meeting once a month, is the right training path for them.
The day will include exploring principles of community development, celebrating our community, understanding community needs, mapping and problem trees and planning for action. Topics will be covered via group work, film clips, drama and discussion.
The price per delegate is £10, which includes lunch and refreshments.
Please contact Merlyn Barrett at Reading Voluntary Action if you would like to book a place.
