Community Chest Bids 2009

Thames Valley Housing begin 2009 giving back to community

Thames Valley Housing has announced the opening of 2009 bid applications for its community investment program, Community Chest.

Launched in 2007, Community Chest provides funding to TVH residents, community projects and wider community based charitable programs working within TVH’s areas.

Applicants can apply for funds up to £1,000, in the areas of:

1. Building neighbourhoods: health, education, crime prevention, environmental issues and supporting access to leisure activities;

2. Celebrating heritage and culture: community arts, community festivals, and heritage projects which contribute to place shaping; and

3. Working for community change: volunteering projects, community enterprises, promoting diversity integration, increasing participation and skills, financial inclusion and anti-poverty projects.

“Community Chest is a way for Thames Valley Housing to contribute to the growth and development of the local communities in which we work” says TVH Housing Director John Baldwin. “We are excited to announce the opening of 2009 bids, and hope to make a positive impact to many communities through this year’s grants.”

Application forms and information can be obtained from Stephanie Sheen on 020 8607 0879, or via email at community_chest@tvha.co.uk.

Bids close on 16 February 2009.
