News of 4 programmes for the coming financial year

1. Awards for All
This scheme funds voluntary and community groups, schools and health organisations, parish and town councils whose projects achieve one of these four outcomes:

- People have better chances in life, with better access to training and development to improve their life skills.

- Stronger communities, with more active citizen, working together to tackle their problems.

- Improved rural and urban environment, which communities are better able to enjoy.

- Healthier and more active people and communities.

Amounts - Grants from £300 and £10,000 are available. Projects must be completed within one year.

2. Arts Council England Grants for arts
This scheme is for individuals, organisations and other people who use the art in their work. Grants for activities over a set period which engages people in England in the arts, and helps artists and arts organisations in England carry out their work.

Amounts - Grants to individuals range from £1,000 up to £30,000 and will pay for activities lasting up to three years.

Grants to organisations from £1,000 up to £100,000, and will pay for activities lasting up to three years.

3. Heritage Lottery Fund
There are two small grants schemes:

Young Roots - This scheme makes grants to involve 13-25 year-olds in finding about their heritage, developing skills, building confidence and promoting community involvement.

Your Heritage - This scheme support projects that relate to the local, regional or national heritage of the UK and that help people to learn about and look after their heritage.

Amounts - Young Roots makes grants of between £3,000 and £25,000, and Your Heritage between £3,000 and £50,000.

4. Sport England- Small Grants Programme
Sport England’s small grants programme funds community projects that encourage people to become involved in sport and ensure that they have a quality sporting experience. The scheme also helps people to improve their performance in their chosen sport. The scheme is not-for-profit sports clubs, voluntary and community organisations, local authorities and education institutions.

Amounts - Grants of between £300 and £10,000 are available for revenue and small capital projects.
