Social Enterprise Investment Fund
The Social Enterprise Investment Fund (SEIF), provides loans and grants to social enterprises which improve the quality of health and social care for local communities, has now opened. The Fund is managed by Futurebuilders in partnership with Partnerships UK, on behalf of the Department for Health. There is more than £70 million still available for start-up and existing social enterprises over the next three years.
Social enterprises can apply for a range of financial help including loans, grants and equity-like investment products, along with tailored business support services.
The Social Enterprise Investment Fund provides investment to help new social enterprises start up and existing social enterprises grow and improve their services. We work to support social enterprises in the delivery of innovative health and social care services.
• You have to be a social enterprise according to the Government definition - 'a business with primarily social objectives whose surpluses are principally invested for that purpose in the business or in the community, rather than being driven by the need to maximise profit for shareholders and owners'
• Your proposed services have to deliver health and/or social care outcomes The ultimate beneficiaries of your proposal must be based in England
• You have to be unable to secure funding from a commercial bank
• You must be able to repay the investment and be able to show how you plan to do so
• Your proposal must help meet the aims of SEIF
