Record numbers of people coming forward to volunteer

Volunteering is an excellent way to keep up your confidence whilst looking for paid employment.
A record number of people who have been, or are about to become redundant are coming in to the Volunteer Centre.
They realise that it's a brilliant opportunity to gain practical experience, test new career paths, to acquire new skills and access training which, in some cases, might lead to a recognised qualification.
People are surprised by the many hundreds of opportunities that they may choose from.
These range from roles in sport, conservation, fundraising, computers and general management to catering, befriending and shop work plus many more.
In a survey done by Time Bank it was found that three quarters of employers prefer to recruit candidates with volunteering experience on their CV's.
In other words, volunteering can improve one's employability. Call in to see us at the Volunteer Centre and find out more.
