WANTED: New Trustees for RVA
by Sarah Morland (Chair - RVA)
15 September 2009
Reading Voluntary Action exists to promote and support a diverse voluntary and community sector to flourish locally, enhancing the quality of life for people living in Reading.
The Board of RVA is responsible for directing the affairs of the organisation, ensuring that it is solvent, well run and delivering the outcomes for which it is set up. The Board is well established and competent, and takes a strategic approach in its decision-making.
We are seeking to strengthen the experience and skills of existing members by recruiting up two new trustees to bring expertise in any of the following areas:
• community engagement and development
• human resources/personnel
We would like Trustees to commit to a minimum of 8 meetings (evenings/daytime) per year, including Board and Sub-committee meetings, and a full day for strategic planning (February).
If you are interested in finding out more, we would like to invite you for an informal meeting during early September to discuss what you could offer us, RVA’s expectations of its trustees, and what you can expect for us in the way of advice, guidance and support.
Please contact RVA who will put you in touch with Sarah Morland, Chair of the Board of Trustees.
