Get your News On Air - Broadcast Opportunities from Reading Community Radio

Reading Voluntary Action has learnt that Reading Community Radio will be doing a 4-day broadcast in partnership with Prospect School on 15th – 18th October. Broadcasting from the school, pupils will be doing most of the broadcasting, with RCR providing technical back up, and support with more challenging programmes.
The Station will be called “Prospect Pulse – The Rhythm of Reading” and will be broadcasting on 87.7fm and streaming on the Internet.
For this broadcast, Reading Community Radio would like to hear from voluntary and community groups who would be interested in getting a message over on air, whether to attract new members, promote their services or advertise a forthcoming event.
Due to the location and age of the participants, for this broadcast RCR will be focusing on groups in the West Reading area or those working primarily with young people.
A second broadcast on 26th – 29th November, and sponsored by four housing associations working in Reading, will have a wider remit. RCR are inviting local voluntary and community groups to use this broadcast to:
• Advertise an event – part of a “What’s On In Reading” bulletin which would be broadcast up to 6 times daily
• Promote the group – a 3-minute slot as part of a series entitled “Our Reading”, one of which would be broadcast each hour
• Conduct an interview, either live in the studio or pre-recorded
