Are you currently not working and would like to start over, but not sure how?
Our free ‘Yes You’ Personal Training can help you to boost your confidence and fire up your energy levels. The courses are aimed at those who are economically inactive, including stay-at-home parents, unemployed and retired people.
You can chose from two or more of the following 4-hour modules:
1. ‘The Truth is out There’
Date: 29.6.10 Location: MAPP, 22-24 Mount Pleasant, Reading, RG1 2TD
The programme starts with some basic psychology and how our beliefs get formed. We will see that sometimes we do not see all that there is to see and how our mind can sometimes be more of an enemy than our friend.
2. ‘Who am I?’
Date: 13.7.10 Location: YMCA, 34 Parkside Road, Reading, RG30 2DD
We will look at how our self-image is formed and learn all about the self-talk cycle and how this is linked with self-esteem. We will also start to look at language and physiology and how these can affect us and limit our options in life.
3. ‘Embracing Fear’
Date: 27.7.10 Location: MAPP, 22-24 Mount Pleasant, Reading, RG1 2TD
We will understand the 3 levels of fear and assess our own comfort zones as well as look at the ‘I’m OK, You’re OK’ model to understand self-esteem. Together we will look at some tips for raising self-esteem and you will create your own personal list of things that would be helpful for you to practise outside of the course.
4. ‘Balancing Act’
Date: 10.8.10 Location: YMCA, 34 Parkside Road, and Reading, RG30 2DD
People, commitments, activities in life can either zap our energy or rejuvenate and revitalize us. In this session you will define your own personal drains and builders and take away some actions to start getting your energy levels up and become familiar with setting and achieving goals. We will look at stress, the good, the bad and the ugly as well as understand some theory behind stress and some tips for prevention and management.
5. ‘From Goals to Action’
Date: 24.8.10 Location: MAPP, 22-24 Mount Pleasant, Reading, RG1 2TD
You will start by completing your own personal balance wheel as well as look at how you currently spend your time versus how you would like to spend your time. We will see how focus is key and how we think about time can have a huge effect on achieving goals as well as stress levels. You will learn some rules for setting achievable and effective goals.
6. ‘Keeping on Track’
Date 7.9.10 Location: MAPP, 22-24 Mount Pleasant, Reading, RG1 2TD
This session will look at the learnings from the previous five sessions and give some practical tips for staying on track and overcoming procrastination. We will look at the advantages of having a closed list rather than an ongoing list and you will take away an action list of how you will use the things you have learnt in everyday life.
All the courses are free, and include a free lunch. We may also be able to reimburse childcare and transport costs (subject to demand).
