‘Vision and Voice’ Conference Outcomes Help to Shape Reading’s Future
by Anna Fowler (Forum Co-ordinator)

Ideas and recommendations generated at Reading Voluntary Action’s successful ‘Vision and Voice’ Conference in March are being used as the Voluntary and Community Sector’s input into a new strategic plan for our town.
Delegates were asked to come up with visions and priorities that would form part of the refreshed Sustainable Community Strategy. Collected by theme, these outcomes have been collated into reports and disseminated to the Local Strategic Partnership, the wider VCS and other stakeholders. They also played an important part at the recent LSP Away Day, where they were used in strategy planning and development.
Covering areas that affect everyone in Reading, from young and older peoples’ issues; health; safer communities and economic investment in our town, these priorities reflect what is needed and suggest how they can be achieved.
