Launch of Reading4U as an Internet radio station
by Eddie Winship
27 July 2010
On Friday 2 July, Reading4U launched very successfully as an Internet radio station streaming on
www.reading4u.org and serving the Reading Community. Radio from the community, for the community and by the community!
I present “Community Matters” between 10-12noon from Monday to Friday and would like to have a different guest on my show each day from groups or organisations (whether statutory or voluntary) within Reading. Representatives of Reading branches of national bodies are, of course, equally welcome.
I would like people who are prepared to come in for the whole two hours, perhaps bring some of their favourite CDs, and be prepared to talk about other things too.
Those of you who might have already had a chat with me on air can assure the rest that my aim is not to put anyone “on the spot”, cause embarrassment or generally make things difficult. I want to give you the opportunity to publicise your group, recruit volunteers, offer your services and do anything else you think will help. You are welcome to bring a couple of colleagues in with you for their contributions or just for moral support!
Please feel free to forward this to any colleagues who might be interested.
If you want to discuss the idea further, call me on 0118 3279774 or 07990543387 (but not between 10-12noon please!)
