The Department of Health has made available an Innovation Excellence and Service Development Fund to support health and social care projects that have the potential to have a significant national impact across England.
Support will be available in three separate strands:
Innovation - for projects that demonstrate an innovative approach to the delivery of health and social care.
Excellence - for existing projects that have proved their success and from which the learning can be disseminated and rolled out across the sector.
Service Development - capacity building and promotion of partnership working to enable organisations to become more sustainable and less reliant on central government funding.
In particular, the programme is keen to fund:
New and creative approaches to improve peoples health and well-being by developing health and social-care services both at local and national level.
Organisations which share learning and which deliver effective practice and proven models of health and social-care services.
Voluntary organisations to develop improved health and social-care services and to promote greater partnership working between the voluntary sector and health and social-care organisations.
Key Criteria
Carry out the project (for which a grant is applied for) in England.
Have a formal constitution if it is not incorporated.
Have an equal opportunities policy and a health and safety policy in place.
For the 2011-12 bidding round, applications are made through a single-stage process. Applications must be submitted via the online system by 12 noon on Monday 1 November 2010.
