Peacing Together One World
18 August 2010
New resources are now available for OWW 2010
Are your plans for 17 - 24 October all sorted? You haven't really started yet? Either way, there is plenty here to enable you to put on some stimulating, involving and fun events which will hopefully lead people to take action towards "creating a culture of peace for our children".
We heard what you said about wanting posters, quizzes and more for children to do. And here they are, with loads more new helpful resources on the One World Week website
www.oneworldweek.org/v2/index.php?page=2010-Resources,... They are relevant across all ages, religions, cultures and interests. Many are adaptable to suit your own needs.
All sorts of activities, from making paper cranes and doves to games about peace symbols; initiating a discussion about a culture of peace with a thought-provoking PowerPoint presentation; faith materials include a PowerPoint on "Islam and Peace"; specially written materials for devising your Christian worship; a collection of prayers for peace from a variety of faiths for an interfaith event; a fantastic collection of activities, games and quizzes for schools and children of all ages ideas for peace pledges - everyone can do something.
We'd love to know what you are planning for One World Week. Any appropriate events you organise can be placed on the OWW website. Register on the site (you only ever need to do this once!) and once your registration email comes through you can upload your event details for the whole world to see. Free publicity for you and stimulation and a sense of common endeavour for everyone.
If you would like any pre-printed posters or leaflets with space to write in details for your event or if you require any further assistance, please call us on 0118 939 4933 or email us at
oww@oneworldweek.org.
