Get ready for RESCUE 21-24 March 2013
by RNN Steering Group
28 February 2013
Reading Rescue is a local partnership of community groups, local companies and Reading Borough Council. There are two annual clean-up events to clear up the green spaces of Reading Borough, helping to keep our local neighbourhoods cleaner and greener.
In 2012 Rescue groups worked in over 30 different areas of Reading, providing hundreds of volunteer hours and reaching many parts of the borough to make a difference to our local communities.
Reading Rescue 1 is nearly here - Thursday 21 to Sunday 24 March 2013. Thursday and Friday will be for corporate groups to get involved. Saturday and Sunday will be for community groups - to find out who's working in your area and join in please visit the
Rescue website (which lists some of the participating groups), look at the
Rescue Facebook page or send an email to
rescue@reading.gov.uk.
Reading Rescue 2 will be in October, dates yet to be decided. This second event will focus on waterways and woodlands across the borough. We'll be publishing more information on this event as it becomes available.
