Culture, taken in its wide sense is, 'the way of life for an entire society' and includes distinctive material, spiritual, intellectual and emotional features, art and literature, lifestyles, ways of living together, value systems and traditions inherited by man or woman as a member of society.
Large societies often have subcultures, or groups of people with distinct sets of behavior and beliefs that differentiate them from a larger culture of which they are a part. The minorities can have an identity of their own, but they should support the core concepts of the culture on which the society is based.
Culture is dynamic and changes over time. In doing so, cultures absorb external influences and adjust to changing environments.
It was with this mission, Association of Reading Malayalees - ARMS-was established in December 2008 aiming to undertake social, educational, cultural, festival and family get together events to improve the social life and well being of its members living in and around Reading and help them integrate to the mainstream British life.
With this mission and in setting the goals for tomorrow the Association would like all Malayalees in and around Reading to be part of ARMS
Mr Thomas Jos - Secretary
Mr Jim Jacob - Chair
