Beansheaf Community Pre-school is registered with Ofsted for full sessional day care for children between the age of 2 years and 5 years old and have achieved a 'Good' Ofsted rating. Places are offered in birth date order, which is generally the term of your child's third birthday but is dependent on the places available and our staff/child ratio. We can offer your child an early year's curriculum by incorporating the Early Learning Goals through a wide range of activities and equipment. It is our aim to stimulate your child's imagination and creativity through painting, gluing, play dough, puzzles, pencils, books, water play and sand play, dressing up, bikes, duplo, beads and many more. We feel most important of all is to ensure all our children are happy confident children who enjoy their time in Pre-school.

The Calcot Holiday Club provides care for up to 70 children aged between 4 and 14 years during the school holidays. We are registered with Ofsted. We operate from 8am to 6pm Monday to Friday and provide a range of craft activities for those children who wish to take advantage and also have a couple of TVs and Playstation games machines for those who don't. Staff ratios are strictly maintained as directed by Ofsted and staff from West Berkshire Council pay regular visits. Children are allowed to play in the park provided appropriate numbers of staff are with them and "walkie talkies" are used to maintain contact for safety reasons. We have also worked in conjunction with Theale Leisure Centre to use some of their facilities and use council provided mini buses to transport small numbers of children over there, only qualified staff drive the buses.

Run by Kennet Valley Free Church. The aims and objectives are: To provide a welcoming atmosphere where adults and children will enjoy meeting friends. To provide a variety of safe, stimulating, enjoyable and age-appropriate play, art and craft and social activities and experiences for the children. To encourage very small children to develop some independence, while secure in the knowledge that their own special adult is always near-by. All the helpers are Christians who believe their faith is relevant to everyday life, and 'Five Down' is seen as part of the service of the Church to the local community. There is no termly fee. A contribution of 60p per family per session is requested. Refreshments are served to adults and children. Sessions end with singing and stories.

Established over 27 years ago by Monica Cleaver. Mo's Dance and Drama Schools still aims to provide affordable expert tuition in a friendly atmosphere. Pupils can take recognised examinations (RAD, ISTD, IDTA and LAMDA), perform in shows or simpy DANCE FOR FUN!!
Our current classes include ballet, tap, modern, street jazz, disco, drama, singing and musical theatre. Classes are held in Caversham, Woodley, Spencers Wood, Grazeley and Calcot. There are special classes for our younger pupils including Baby Balley and Tiny Tappers as well as classes to Advanced Level. We welcome children that are 'older beginners' and others that have some dance experience before coming to us - at Mo's we make sure each child is in the most suitable class for their age and ability. We even have classes for adults!
One of the most popular activities for children from 5 to 18 years of age is Mo's Saturday Stage School. Unlike other schools, at Mo's children receive a full day of musical theatre classes including dance, drama and singing led by qualified and experienced teachers - all for under £25 per day. Pupils from Mo's Stage School were recently selected to perform in Joseph at Reading's Hexagon Theatre.

The orchestra was founded more than 34 years ago to encourage adults to play classical music in a friendly relaxed group, especially those who have often not played since school days. Something like grade 5 or equivalent is a comfortable standard. Ours is a rehearsal orchestra playing for our own enjoyment, not usually giving formal concerts, but we play our best efforts to Friends and Loved Ones at the end of each term. Every year we stay at Ufton Court for a full weekend of music-making and have a succession of social events to encourage a happy family atmosphere
