Berkshire Conservation Volunteers are a group who carry out voluntary environmental work on nature reserves in Berkshire and neighbouring counties. This is valuable work that might otherwise not get done. We were founded in 1975 and have our own tools and a minibus which calls at Reading Station every Sunday at 9.30am to pick up volunteers. The work we do is varied, usually woodland work during the winter with more varied work in the summer. Tasks take place every Sunday of the year (except Christmas and New Year). New volunteers are always welcome, and no experience is required - training is always given: just wear work clothes and stout boots or wellies, and bring a packed lunch. Tea, coffee, squash and biscuits are provided. If possible, please contact the task leader listed on our website for that Sunday before you come.
