Berkshire Scout Enterprises Limited was formed in 1985 by adult members of The Scout Association in response to growing unemployment, especially amongst young people. For more than 20 years it has provided help for those who are unemployed, have a disability or otherwise disadvantaged in the labour market.
The Company pursues twin objectives. First, to serve the community At present it manages two projects part funded by the European Social Fund: Building Futures and Reboot. Both provide participants with skills, training and opportunities to gain confidence in preparation for a return to the workplace. Second, the company supports Scouting, locally, nationally and internationally in practical ways, such as providing equipment, running courses and marketing and administrative support.
