The Reading and District Branch of Cats Protection is one of over two hundred and fifty branches of CP volunteers in the UK, rescuing, treating, neutering and re-homing unwanted or abandoned cats and kittens. We aim to help several hundred local cats each year. We operate through a network of fosterers who provide temporary accommodation for needy cats until safe, loving, permanent homes can be found for them. The fosterers are supported by other volunteers who concentrate on fund-raising and other administrative tasks that are needed by the organisation. Reading has been divided into two areas covered by two separate CP branches. We cover the postcodes RG30, RG31, RG8 and RG9. We also share the postcodes RG1, RG2 and RG7.

Our co-ordinator is the central point of contact and hub for our branch. There are many other people involved in our charity who do all sorts of duties which cover 90% of the work involved and not all of these volunteers will have contact with our co-ordinator.
