Supporting families, changing lives, building futures
Family Resource Centre UK is a respected, trusted and established charity working in the provision of outsourced services for over twenty years.

Since 1990, we have worked with Local Authorities, businesses and other voluntary sector organisations to provide a variety of services. We have developed a very strong skill set and have proved ourselves to be both efficient and flexible. We are “user led” and as such we develop services to meet the needs of our clients and the children, young people and the families they serve.

The services we provide include Family Information Service, Special Needs/LDD services, data collection, research, training, counselling, information sharing, multimedia development as well as the production of bespoke publications and tailored projects.

Family Resource Centre UK provides the Family Information Service (FIS) on behalf of Reading and West Berkshire Councils. The FIS is a free information service for families with children aged from birth – 19 years old (up to 25 years old for children with Special Needs/ Learning Difficulties and Disabilities (LDD)) operating in Reading and West Berkshire.

Other Family Resource Centre UK project work includes Great Opportunities (GO!), a project developed to provide one-off leisure and educational activities for disadvantaged children and young people to participate in with their families and friends.

School of Hoops joined Family Resource Centre UK in 2011. School of Hoops is an inclusive global grassroots basketball coaching and mentoring programme aimed at children and young people.

Family Resource Centre UK is proud to have been awarded the specialist National Association of Family Information Service (NAFIS) Quality Award as well as the universally recognised Investors in People (IIP) Award.

Family Resource Centre UK is absolutely committed to providing a quality and accessible service to clients. These awards reflect the hard work and dedication of all concerned with the Centre, who, in turn, make this commitment a reality.

Family Resource Centre UK has a dedicated and knowledgeable staff (including information officers, admin team, marketing team, management team and finance team) and is supported by an enthusiastic and proactive Board of Trustees as well as the many volunteers involved with the organisation.

Family Resource Centre UK is an environmentally aware organisation and has a "green policy". We are proud to be members of the Green Achiever Scheme.
