Christian Community Action (CCA) operates in the Reading area, to provide practical help to those requiring assistance with obtaining furniture and household goods. CCA's services are accessed by referral from an agency or by self-referral. No appointment is necessary to visit a CCA Support Centre, where we assess how a family/individual can be assisted.
To meet these needs, the public donate good quality, unwanted furniture and household goods. CCA will collect furniture within postcode areas RG1-6 (inclusive), 8 (part), 30, 31 and 41 (part).
CCA has charity shops alongside each Support Centre which support the work financially as well as providing somewhere to call in for a cup of tea and a 'listening ear'.
CCA has an 'army' of volunteers from all backgrounds and also takes work placements from across the town

That's how much time our volunteers give to us every year. It's a staggering figure, and shows the huge value that our volunteers are to us. Our 139 volunteers perform a wide range of roles - in our shops, on the vans, in the support centre and drop-in, in the office and as trustees.
