First Steps to Freedom does not work from central or regional offices, but operates 'virtually' via the telephone. The Association is established to offer support and rehabilitation to those suffering from anxiety disorders and emotional distress. The services of the Association will not be limited to any particular group, and will be available to both sufferers and their carers and families. The Association will concern itself primarily with helping individuals to understand and cope with the symptoms of anxiety, whether these are caused by psychological problems, tranquilliser withdrawal or personal circumstances.
