Firtree is a club for the retired. Its aims are to stimulate mind and body by offering a wide choice of activities. Members can become leaders of the activities but professional instructors are used for certain specialised activities. Alongside the weekly activities, outings to places of interest and to the theatre are arranged, as well as annual holidays. The emphasis throughout is for friendship and fun.
Firtree stands for: Friends in Retirement Taking Recreation, Education and Exercise.
Some activities take place at other times on Mondays and Wednesdays twice monthly.
