Reading Marriage Care exists to support quality family relationships. Volunteers, professionally qualified by Leeds University, provide Couples Counselling to those experiencing difficulties. This service is also available to those outside marriage and regardless of background or belief. Counsellors are non-judgemental and good active listeners. Nobody is turned away through being unable to pay. No charge is made but a donation is suggested.

Reading Marriage Care also provides Marriage Preparation courses - one day workshops (cost £40) and FOCCUS relationship development (communication and understanding). Three sessions cost £35 - given by trained and qualified counsellors and teachers.

Relationship counselling helps people who, at a particular moment in their lives, find themselves in distress or difficulty with those close to them. The counsellor is a skilled and sensitive listener, who helps clients explore and manage their feelings and relationship. Clients make telephone appointments for a weekly series of appointments - usually three to six sessions. Counselling is weekly on Monday evenings in Woodley.
