Support and information to family carers in Reading, Wokingham, West Berkshire, Windsor and Maidenhead. (A carer is someone whose life is affected because of the need to care for an adult or child who is mentally or physically disabled, has learning difficulties, is mentally ill or whose health is affected by sickness or old age).
There are several local Carers Services Support Groups: The Poppy Club (Tilehurst); The Reading and Wokingham Mental Health Carers Club; The Carers Support Group, Wokingham; Emmer Green Carers Support Group; The Southcote Carers Support Group. For further details contact the Carers Telephone Helpline on Freephone 0800 988 5462 every weekday (except Thursday) between 10am-1pm, and 2.00pm-4.00pm. Also Wednesday evenings between 7-9pm.
