To provide grants to those who are sick, convalescent, infirm, disabled or handicapped, both physically and mentally. Consideration is given to any substantiated need justified by medical practitioners, nurses, social workers and voluntary organisations but sometimes on examined individual applications. Grants are also made to organisations concerned with the sick and handicapped in the area. Applicants should live within Reading and district (roughly 7 mile radius from centre of Reading).
Application is by form, copies available through the Social Services, GP Surgeries and from the Clerk. Organisations should apply by letter enclosing their accounts. Trustees meet once a month. Office hours: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9.30-12.30.
