The aim of our group is to provide support and information to Fibromyalgia (FM) sufferers and their families and friends. It is hoped that by meeting fellow sufferers and exchanging information about the symptoms, treatments and help available, we will arrive at a better understanding of this syndrome. The emphasis is not, however, on symptoms but on a positive attitude and copiing strtegies. By having a support group we can also raise awareness of FM in the community and especially with medical professionals. There is also an All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Fibromyalgia (chaired by the Reading East MP Rob Wilson) and our group is very involved with this and raising awareness nationally.
