The Mustard Tree Foundation (Reading) seeks to work together with others to build sustainable communities, helping disadvantaged people develop new skills and self worth. We originally started through our Community Cafe on Dee Park and from there developed a number of projects which aim to serve the wider community in our town.
We are a provider of parenting classes; our small team will deliver parenting courses using material provided by the family caring trust. We continue to serve good value, healthy food at the Open Door Cafe in Lyon Square. We run a Monday evening Youth Club and activities during the school holidays for young people in West Reading. Rahab is a voluntary project that provides outreach services to women involved in street-based prostitution in Reading. Reading Llifeline operates a crisis pregnancy service which is open to all.
