Volunteer Centre Reading is supported by Reading Voluntary Action (RVA)
A palliative care unit in Reading seeks a number of warm and friendly volunteers for 4-6 hours per week to make contact in the patient’s home on average once a week and also offer general support to include shopping trips and hospital appointments etc. using volunteer’s own car. Volunteers would be required to write reports, keep records and undertake ongoing training. A befriending induction training programme (24 hours in total) is provided plus ongoing support and supervision. References and Police checks are required. Petrol/mileage expenses can be paid.
